Component Word : muurddhajyotiShi siddhadarshanam.
Sutra in English : muurddhajyotiShi siddhadarshanam.32.
Meaning in English : (muurddha-jyotiShi) By performing Sanyama over the coronal light = light in the head, the yogi (siddha-darshanam) is able to view = get the knowledge of intellectual attainers or the yogi who has attained the higher planes of yoga.
Ancient Seer Commentary in English : shiraHkapaale.antashChidra.m prabhaasvara.m jyotiH. tatra sa.myama.m kRRitvaa siddhaanaa.m dyaavaapRRithivyorantaraala-chaariNaa.m darshanam.
Ancient seer Meaning in English : (shiraH-kapaale) In the skull (antaH-chhidram) there is a hole that has (prabhaasvaram) extremely bright (jyotiH) light. (sa.nyamam kritvaa) By performing Sanyama (tatra) in that light, the yogi (darshanam) gets the vision = knowledge (siddhaanaam) of Siddhas = intellectuals who have attained divine powers or the yogi who has attained the higher planes by yogic practice, (antaraala-chaariNaam) who move between (dyaavaa-prithivyoH) earth and divine state of mind.
Vedic Commentary in English : In this aphorism attainment of performing Sanyama over the coronal light is described. By performing Sanyama over the coronal light = light in the head, the yogi gets the knowledge of intellectuals, attainers of yoga who have attained higher planes of yoga. Seer Vyaasa had remarked that devotee gets the knowledge of persons who moves on the earth but have reached the divine state of mind.
Various commentators have referred to the vision of attainers who are invisible and are known as 'devas' = intellectuals. But this is due to not understanding the commentary of Vyaasa.
Who are the 'Siddhas = Intellectuals' moving on earth and "duloka" = places of bright light? The meaning of 'Siddhas’ is given as follows —
1. Seer having the internal vision; and 2. A person having divine qualities.
The meaning of Seer having an internal vision is clear. Who are the persons having divine qualities and moving between the earth and higher light-full places?
In the explanation of the aphorism, it is very clearly stated that 'devas' are the persons who have specific qualities, it is not a category of life-state. So, the 'Siddhas' are the persons who have specific divine qualities and have achieved the higher planes of yoga. Both these persons come in the category of 'Siddhas'. Their movement on the earth takes place in the normal course of life, and their movement in the 'duloka' = light-full places is qualitative only, not physical. The Head in the body is known as 'duloka' where seven 'praaNaas' = organs exist. So, the person having achieved the superficial = subtle attainments of organs, and involved in those superficial capabilities and working for the well-being of humanity is to be understood as their movement in 'duloka' = qualitative light-full places.
Normal persons are not able to know persons with divine qualities and seers with the internal vision, as neither they have such a level of mind nor do they have knowledge of yogic attainments. On the other hand, a devotee who performs Sanyama over the coronal light cognizes such persons very easily on the basis of their knowledge, qualities, and modifications. In this regard, Bhoja had said that this devotee not only views them but also has a discussion with them. Such discussion is possible with the living 'Siddhas' as above, not with the invisible 'Siddhas' who existed in earlier periods as mentioned by some commentators.
