Swami Dayanand Saraswati Commentary : The defects of deceit, hypocrisy, happiness in selfishness, conceit, ego, shrewdness, and others are called ‘Guile’; and a person with these qualities is known as ‘Deceptive’.

महर्षि दयानन्द व्याख्या : जो छल, कपट, स्वार्थ में ही प्रसन्नता दम्भ, अहङ्कार, शठतादि दोष हैं, इसको 'माया' कहते हैं, और जो मनुष्य इससे युक्त हो, वह 'मायावी' कहलाता है ।
