Vedic Commentary in English : In this aphorism fruits of Sanyama over the navel are explained. The navel plexus is in the center of the body. By performing Sanyama over the navel plexus, the Yogi gets knowledge of the system of the body. While explaining this Seer Vyaasa said that gas, bile, and phlegm are the three humours in the body. As per Ayurveda, the body remain healthy when these three are in equilibrium, and when these are not in equilibrium, then any type of disease occurs in the body.
There are seven substances in the body starting from the skin to semen. The skin is the external most of the seven substances and semen is the interior most substance. Fat is external to the semen; bones are external to the fat; nerves are external to bones; muscles are external to nerves; blood is external to the muscles; and skin is the external most substance of the body. The existence of substances is to be understood in the above sequence. The body remains perfect and healthy on the basis of these substances and humor.
