Swami Dayanand Saraswati Commentary : Adultery is — (1) having a physical relationship with another woman, other than one’s wife (and vice versa); (2) wasting one’s semen with one’s wife in the period when conception cannot take place (i.e. having sex for physical pleasure, not for conception); (3) having excessive sexual relation with one’s wife, and thereby excessively wasting semen; and (4) marrying before becoming fully adults. Leaving these behaviors is called ‘Renunciation of Adultery’.

महर्षि दयानन्द व्याख्या : जो अपनी स्त्री के विना दूसरी स्त्री के साथ गमन करना, और अपनी स्त्री को भी ऋतु काल के विना वीर्य दान करना, तथा अपनी स्त्री के साथ भी वीर्य का अत्यन्त नाश करना और युवावस्था के विना विवाह करना है, यह 'व्यभिचार' कहलाता है । उसको छोड़ देने का नाम 'व्यभिचार त्याग' है ।
